I can’t tell the joy I felt when the secretary of our school handed me the 12 envelopes that had come for my birthday from the States. “Uh, Jennifer, these are for you…” I remember him saying to me, struggling with the other mail from the school P.O. box. “You have many letters!” The pink, blue, green, and yellow envelopes stood in stark contrast to the pay stubs for the other teachers. When my birthday came around, I opened each one as carefully as I opened Christmas presents when I was five; it took me about thirty minutes to open the lot. Thank you so much for so much love from home – it truly made my birthday special!!
